iframe <= 5.0 - Authenticated(Contributor+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via shortcode

iframe: Currently marked unpatched

Affected versions: *-5.0

Vulnerability type: CWE-79 Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The iframe plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's shortcode(s) in all versions up to and including 5.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

iFrame <= 4.8 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via srcdoc

iframe: Currently marked unpatched

Affected versions: *-4.8

Vulnerability type: CWE-79 Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The iFrame plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the srcdoc parameter in versions up to, and including, 4.8 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Since the malicious JS is limited to the scope of the iframe, there is no practical way to steal admin cookies or sessions.

iframe: Currently marked unpatched

Affected versions: *-4.6

Vulnerability type: CWE-79 Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The iframe plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the `iframe` shortcode in versions up to, and including, 4.6 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. iFrame <= 3.0 - Reflected Cross-Site Scripting

iframe: Currently marked unpatched

Affected versions: *-3.0

Vulnerability type: CWE-79 Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The iFrame plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the ‘get_params_from_url’ option in versions up to, and including, 3.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
