TranslatePress <= 2.10.2 - Unauthenticated PHP Object Injection

Affected versions: *-2.10.2

Vulnerability type: CWE-502 Deserialization of Untrusted Data

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The Translate Multilingual sites – TranslatePress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 2.10.2 via deserialization of untrusted input. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, which means this vulnerability has no impact unless another plugin or theme containing a POP chain is installed on the site. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it may allow the attacker to perform actions like delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code depending on the POP chain present.

Translate Multilingual sites – TranslatePress <= 2.7.5 - Cross-Site Request Forgery

Affected versions: *-2.7.5

Vulnerability type: CWE-352 Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The Translate Multilingual sites – TranslatePress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 2.7.5. TranslatePress <= 2.3.2 - Authenticated (Administrator+) SQL Injection

Affected versions: *-2.3.2

Vulnerability type: CWE-89 Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The Translate Multilingual sites WordPress plugin is vulnerable to an authenticated SQL injection in versions up to, and including, 2.3.2 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. By adding a new language (via the settings page) containing specific special characters, the backticks in the SQL query can be surpassed. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.

TranslatePress <= 2.0.8 - Authenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting

Affected versions: [*, 2.0.9)

Vulnerability type: CWE-79 Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Affected software, patched versions and attribution

The TranslatePress WordPress plugin before 2.0.9 does not implement a proper sanitisation on the translated strings. The 'trp_sanitize_string' function only removes script tag with a regex, still allowing other HTML tags and attributes to execute javascript, which could lead to authenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting issues.
